Why teach?

Hello everyone, my name is Carly, and I am a freshmen at Texas State University. My major is education/elementary education and one day I hope to become a Kindergarten teacher.  I have always had a passion for teaching especially after how much i enjoyed my kindergarten teacher. She was such a great teacher and was wonderful with connecting with the young kids in the class. Ever since then, I knew I wanted to also be a Kindergarten teacher and be just like her. I also know a few other people who are teachers and they are always talking about how rewarding it is to help other people. Being a teacher is a very important job, and not everyone is capable of having the patience this career takes. I find it very important to have a career that you love and look forward to everyday, and I know that by being a teacher I will be more than happy with my job choice. 

I have always wanted to teach kindergarten because you get to teach all subjects to young kids. Getting to teach kids the basics has always sounded special to me because they will always remember you as their first teacher. Working with kids is something that I am really good at and enjoy. Helping them learn new things and watching them grow smarter as i teach them seems so rewarding to me. I am so excited to one day get the opportunity to decorate my own classroom, make my own lesson plans, and have my own students to teach.
