Do I have the full picture ?
Do I have the full picture? No, I don't have the full picture. Growing up I never got to experience the full picture. I believe that in order to have the full picture you must pay attention to your surroundings and the people around you to help you understand. After watching the video “I didn’t learn this in school” by Victoria, I learned about how the school systems hide so much powerful information from us students. Instead of us getting all the information and the “full picture” we get a simplified version of stories from our history. I can also relate to Victoria’s video because I also never learned about ruby bridges and many other historic characters/events that make up our world’s history. I believe that by not giving our students the full picture we are only robbing them of an education. These moments in history deserve to be remembered and talked about to show how our world has changed and grown over time to how it in today’s time. As a future teacher I want to tea...
Why teach?
January 19, 2023 Hello everyone, my name is Carly, and I am a freshmen at Texas State University. My major is education/elementary education and one day I hope to become a Kindergarten teacher. I have always had a passion for teaching especially after how much i enjoyed my kindergarten teacher. She was such a great teacher and was wonderful with connecting with the young kids in the class. Ever since then, I knew I wanted to also be a Kindergarten teacher and be just like her. I also know a few other people who are teachers and they are always talking about how rewarding it is to help other people. Being a teacher is a very important job, and not everyone is capable of having the patience this career takes. I find it very important to have a career that you love and look forward to everyday, and I know that by being a teacher I will be more than happy with my job choice.
